| Publishable Summary for public relations/news articles | Each year the 7th grade class spends 3 days in an outdoor setting with an emphasis on environmental awareness, responsibility and general biological knowledge. The hands-on curriculum has been an integral part of the 7th grade experience since 1985. Students spend three days and 2 nights at MacKerricher State Park under the guidance and supervision of two staff members as well as 2-3 parent chaperones. During the 2008-2009 school year, the technology team worked on updating the District's State Technology plan to accommodate new standards and to refresh our goals we had initially established in 2004. New standards include cybersafety courses for all students. |
| Best Practices on File www.ctserc.org | "The
term "Best Practice" has been used to describe "what works" in a
particular situation or environment. When data support the success of a
practice, it is referred to as a research-based practice or scientifically based practice.
As good consumers of information, we must keep in mind that a
particular practice that has worked for someone within a given set of
variables may or may not yield the same results across educational
environments" www.ctserc.org
