Classroom Projects and Work My Students Did In Previous Years!
Every year, for science and language arts, I like to let the children explore the butterfly life cycle. They learn a lot by watching real caterpillars change before their eyes. They record each step in their journal and do a lot of hands on projects about butterflies. Click "read more" to see photos! » read more...
The Geyserville Elementary Garden Program
The Garden Program at Geyserville Elementary School is outstanding! The children learn advanced science concepts, use science tools, and are taught how to analyze a hypothesis by using the Scientific Method. They learn all aspects of gardening from composting and pest management, to sustainable harvesting. They also harvest and cook in the garden regularly and study nutrition. We are continually looking for donations and volunteers to keep our program going. If you want to donate or volunteer to help in the garden, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. » read more...
From the Kindergarten Teacher:
If you are looking for extra work for your child to do at home or just need a good online site for age appropriate learning games, Mrs. Soldate recommends http://www.starfall.com/ as an added resource for your child. Starfall's Learn to Read with Phonics is a great site for added work or if your child is sick and you want to keep them learning while at home.
Another site that goes with our McGraw Hill Program:
